Gave this an extra star on Netflix for Hackman’s rockin’ ‘stache, which is in every scene!

My favorite Hackman ever, my favorite Penn ever; superior to Bonnie And Clyde, even. Hackman’s stubby relentlessness goes up against evil that’s more shallow and vapid and idly opportunistic than diabolical, but is pervasive nonetheless. Movie is very American. Very generous, too, amidst the evil.

Also, first use I recall of the phrase “like watching paint dry.” Screenplay by Alan Sharp.
